My grandfather was a woodturner. He died when I was just a baby so I never got to meet him. I did, however, grow up with several of his pieces, they were treasured by the entire family.
I found myself getting older and older, having always wanted to learn to use a wood lathe and make creations such as my grandfather had. But just not finding the time or money to be able to do so. Finally I broke down and bought a woodlathe, I was immediately entranced.
I am now firmly addicted to the lathe.
What you find here are the results of this addiction to the woodlathe.
I have only been working on my lathe for about 18 months. But I am very pleased with the results so far.
I work predominately with Oregon Myrtlewood, not suprising since I live in Myrtle Point, Oregon. I also work with other woods, Maple(various species). Osage Orange, Ebony, Macassar Ebony, Black Walnut, Carob and many others
Simple phrases cannot reflect entirely my gratitude and how much I say thanks for having answered to my request due to this almost hopeless situation.
